Cecil Sinclair (Bird) Dill was born to Gilbert and Mabel the fifth of ten siblings He studied at Central School (Now Victor Scott upon leaving school he embarked on his life long trade as a master mason. He followed in his father’s footsteps. Building many land mark structures in Bermuda. These buildings are a testament to his expertise. Cecil had a love for music and learned to play the trumpet from some of Bermuda’s leading musicians. He played with some of the tops bands in the Island like Ernie Leader, Pot Gilbert, Al Davis and Llewellyn Butterfield. He was a leading Trumpeter in The North Village Senior Band.

Cecil worked in New York for a few years studying Accounting and like his music excelled in his trade. Cecil along with his brother Sidney both married Binns Sisters. Cecil married Gwendolyn Elizabeth Binns and of that union had six children two of his sons Kenneth (Tokey) and Barrett Sinclair Dill followed in there father’s footsteps by playing music they also served in the Army and and made the title of Major they were leaders of the Regiment Band during their tenure.

Cecil was a Spiritual man. He went quietly and unassuming about his life. He left a great legacy for his children to follow. His Life and his Music.
